This recipe was chosen by my kiddos – they really really love a good old smoothie! I think they feel like they’re getting a real treat if they get this as part of a breakfast or a lunch meal-time, and I’m happy because, well, fruit! I got sent these super cute enamel beakers from Hinton’s (a lovely family run business from Dorset selling a huge range of stylish homeware) and the first thing my three wanted to do, was […]
Well, it is January! I couldn’t let the month pass by without trying out a new juice. This one is super zingy & really woke me up! I juiced 2 apples, a thumb of turmeric & 2 handfuls of spinach. I then added the juice from one orange (our bodies absorb the iron from the spinach a lot better if you combine the two) and et viola – one delicious green super juice!
After 3 days of continuous eating & drinking, I’m DONE!! So, in-between juggling bowls of cereal & Marmite toast for the littlies, I made this for my breakfast today & it was delicious. Now, here’s hoping I can hold out until lunch time today without a single Twiglet or salt & vinegar crisp passing my lips (who am I kidding?!).
Because that’s what you want as we charge into November isn’t it, a frozen drink?! You probably want that as much as you want ‘Let it go’ going round and round in your head. Anyway, regardless of my crap food blogger timing, I’m going to share this with you because I had it this morning for breakfast & it was lovely. I wanted an excuse to use some of the acai I’ve finally tracked down so […]
Sometimes, all that will do is a milkshake. Especially if you’re too damn tired to think about breakfast or getting creative for your blog. This will fill you up (thanks, almond butter), cheer you up (thanks, Maca) and satisfy that sweet tooth (thanks, Maple syrup). If you don’t have maple syrup, then agave / honey / rice syrup will work, as would a couple of Medjool dates. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, then […]
This is the breakfast juice I turn to when I owe my body an apology! This is one for you if you’ve been over-indulgent in one way or another. For me in particular (I suffer from gallbladder disease) if I have gone overboard on the dairy, gluten or bad fats (Salt & Vinegar crisps, I’m looking at you!) then I really know it the following day. This juice sorts me out and reminds me to be […]
Last weekend I chatted about these Peach Bellini’s which looked so good. I was gutted when I realised that they were made using a Starbucks green tea lemonade, because I can’t get my hands on that! So, I made an alternative version & called it a gin fizz. It’s super refreshing & very easy to cobble together – it’s quite possibly my new favourite cocktail! Hic.
This is a really simple summer cocktail. Prosecco is my favourite sparkling wine out there when served up with some basil & strawberry, the combination of flavours are delicious. If you like sparkling or subtle flowery cocktails, then this is one for you. It’s pretty easy to make, so there is no real recipe here because we’re not measuring out different liquors, we are just adding subtle flavours; In a glass, muddle together a couple of […]
This is one of my favourite cocktails at the moment. I tried it for the first time only recently, but it shot straight into my top five of favourites! It’s not as summer inspired as perhaps a Margarita or a Mojito, but it’s still delicious. Enjoy! P.S – I hope to see you tomorrow for the start of my 14-day raw food experiment! I can’t wait!
I surprise myself with this blog, I really do. Take this for example; the girl (me) who claims she doesn’t really do breakfast, goes ahead and posts three consecutive breakfast posts (here, here and here). The same girl (me again, hi!) once wrote a really long (and equally thrilling) blog post about how she hated kidney beans, then went on to blog this kidney bean burger recipe the following week. And now, that very […]
