It is still cold outside. It’s miserable, it’s wet & I’m done. Just get here already, Spring! This super simple sweet slaw (I get double dollar for alliteration) should help cheer up even the gloomiest of days though, so it’s fine. Eat this, put some sunglasses on your face & enjoy the fact that it’s March, and pretty soon we’re going to be eating food like this all the time – maybe even al […]

STAYING IN: FRIENDS ITALIAN FEAST

Last weekend I had a couple of friends over for the evening. One of them I haven’t seen for well over a year so there was a lot of catching up to do! Rather than going out to a fancy restaurant, I thought that it would be really nice to stay at home, all relaxed & cosy and cook a big Italian feast that would see us through the evening. Even though I wanted it […]

This recipe was chosen by my kiddos – they really really love a good old smoothie! I think they feel like they’re getting a real treat if they get this as part of a breakfast or a lunch meal-time, and I’m happy because, well, fruit! I got sent these super cute enamel beakers from Hinton’s (a lovely family run business from Dorset selling a huge range of stylish homeware) and the first thing my three wanted to do, was […]

OLD BAY STYLE SPICE MIX

Today I’m sharing with you my recipe for one of my favourite spice mixes – Old Bay. It’s not something that we can get over here in the supermarkets, so when I ran out of the stash that I’d been sent from my sister-in-law, I thought I’d better make my own. I use this mix so much, on everything & whilst it was originally created for seafood, I use it all over the place. It’s great in non-mayo […]

I said I was going to make these over the weekend and I kept my word (well, kind of as I made them this morning…) & although I knew that they were bound to be good, because salt & vinegar is one of the best flavour combinations out there, I just didn’t realise that they would be this good. If you like salt & vinegar crisps, then you need to make these! They are a really healthy, yet delicious alternative […]

GREEN SUPER JUICE

Well, it is January! I couldn’t let the month pass by without trying out a new juice. This one is super zingy & really woke me up! I juiced 2 apples, a thumb of turmeric & 2 handfuls of spinach. I then added the juice from one orange (our bodies absorb the iron from the spinach a lot better if you combine the two) and et viola – one delicious green super juice!
